Hello Edmonton!
Hello, Edmonton!
After many years of careful planning and preparation, the Pacific Centre for Reproductive Medicine – Edmonton (PCRM) is pleased to open its doors and provide fertility treatment in the beautiful city of Edmonton.
Why Edmonton?
Both Dr. Havelock and Dr. Seethram have special ties to the city. Having completed their post-graduate residency at the University of Alberta, they have ongoing professional relationships with many health care providers in the area, particularly those involved in prenatal and fertility services. Feedback from Alberta colleagues over the years helped us recognize an exciting opportunity to bring our model of clinical care to Edmonton and meet the growing needs of the community. It is our hope that PCRM will broaden access to fertility services in northern Alberta.
Our Goal
Our goal is simple: to provide excellent fertility care with a patient-centric approach. What does that mean? We recognize that treatments start and end with the patient. Having experienced staff is critical to our success, but we also know that focusing on our patients’ experiences makes all the difference. We carefully chose our Edmonton staff to reflect our goals. Carole Lawrence, PCRM’s lab director, relocated to Edmonton from our Burnaby location, bringing with her more than twenty eight years of experience. Our clerks, MOAs, nurses, and physicians were selected for their expertise and attention to patient care.
Patient-centric Approach
To help us stay connected with our patients, we’ve kept pace with changing information technologies. PCRM uses Practice Hwy’s eIVF, a software program that includes a Patient Portal. The patient portal allows easy access to records as well as an open line of communication between patients and their care providers.
We take pride in personalizing a patient’s experience by being one of the only fertility clinics in Canada to answer phones during office hours. Connecting with our patients directly rather than through an automated phone system helps patients contact the most appropriate staff to address their specific concerns more immediately.
The rise in social media has also been a tremendous boon for patient communication — people can “like” us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, and keep tabs on day-to-day clinical questions via our website.
Pharmacy
PCRM is also pleased to be able to offer an on-site pharmacy to our patients and the community. This allows patients the convenience of picking up their medications and supplies during their appointments, a far simpler arrangement than filling a prescription at a local pharmacy. Not only do we provide medications, we educate patients on how to administer them safely and efficiently. Our staff provides one-on-one instruction for the proper handling of all fertility injections.
Please refer to our Services page for more information on treatments we offer. Should you wish to schedule a consultation with one of our fertility experts, click here for more information on how to get started.
