Jason Au, PCRM Embryologist, B.Sc., M.Sc. | PCRM Fertility Clinic Vancouver


Jason Au joined PCRM’s laboratory team in 2008.  He was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Vancouver. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Chemistry from the University of British Colombia in 2005; he achieved his Master of Science in Clinical Embryology from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, in 2014.

Given his education and professional experience, Jason is highly skilled in all aspects of clinical embryology.  He specializes in trophectoderm biopsy and oocyte vitrification.   One of his many research interests is the development of a novel  method of embryo selection to improve pregnancy rate.  To this end, he currently collaborates with Dr. Parvaneh Saeedi from Simon Fraser University to decipher embryonic images with mathematical algorithms.

He brings great energy and drive to our team.  His methodical approach and meticulous techniques are a boon to our lab.

Jina did her BSc at Simon Fraser University, in molecular biology and biochemistry. Her work in the biomedical field has ranged from research in dementia, to the industry development of anti-cancer drugs. Her meticulous nature and attention to detail are greatly appreciated and integrated into our laboratory systems. Jina brings a great deal of analytical strength to PCRM.

Janna Stark Glassman

For the past 25 years Janna has been working with individuals, couples and families in a variety of settings. Early in her career, Janna worked in the area of adoption and witnessed firsthand the struggle of infertility and its impact on the families involved. It was then she became aware of the lack of support available for these families.

She soon committed to educating herself and pursued training in infertility counseling by some of the leading clinicians in the field. Janna then developed a specialization in reproductive health.

Janna received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Social Work followed by a Masters in Counseling Psychology from the University of British Columbia in 1993. Janna is a Registered Social Worker and a member of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS) and the Counseling Special Interest Group (CSIG) of the CFAS.

Karin Schwartz

Karin has been counseling individuals, couples and families for over 20 years. She has a passion for helping people of all ages deepen self-knowledge and gain insight in order to make meaningful change in their life. In her sessions, Karin seeks to draw out clients needs in order to compassionately guide them towards a life of well-being with self and others.

For the past 10 years, Karin has developed a special interest in the area of infertility and reproductive health. Karin has been fortunate to receive training in infertility by some of the leading clinicians in this field. She has a personal passion for the mind/body connection and seeks to help her clients access this powerful source to lead them towards health and healing.

Karin received a Masters degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Southern California in 1993 and has since served her clients in a variety of settings including mental health, community agencies, medical clinics and private practice.

She is a Registered Social Worker and a member of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS) and the Counseling Special Interest Group (CSIG) of the CFAS.
